
Dr. Mazur graduated from Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University and completed his orthopaedic residency at Hahnemann University Hospital. In furthering his orthopaedic education, Dr. Mazur completed a sports medicine fellowship at Allegheny University Hospitals, where he received extensive training in arthroscopic surgery of the knee and shoulder reconstruction. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Recognized as a leader in knee ligament (ACL) reconstruction, Dr. Mazur's patients consist of world class athletes as well as weekend warriors. His expertise in this area has earned him a position as an associate instructor for the Arthroscopy Association of North America at their Advanced Knee Ligament Reconstruction Course. He is also a national instructor for Biomet Sports Medicine Surgery, teaching advanced techniques in knee and shoulder reconstruction to orthopaedic surgeons here and abroad. Dr. Mazur is one of the first surgeons in the area to adopt the new magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) based custom fit total knee. Dr. Mazur focuses his practice on arthroscopic surgery, knee ligament reconstruction/ACL, joint replacement surgery and the treatment of sports related injuries and fractures.
Dr. Mazur was named as a "Top Doctor" by Main Line Today Magazine for the past nine years. He holds various positions in the medical community, which include: Board of Directors of the Philadelphia Orthopaedic Society, Vice President of the Paoli Hospital Medical Staff, Medical Operations Committee for Paoli Hospital, Medical Executive Committee for Main Line Health System and former Vice President of the Philadelphia Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine. He also served as an assistant team physician for the Philadelphia Eagles, Flyers and Phantoms.
As an athlete himself, having played competitive football at the University of Delaware and still enjoying ice hockey, golf and surfing, Dr. Mazur understands the need for quick comprehensive recovery from injury.
