About Us

PA Orthopaedic Center (PAOC), formally known as Ruggiero Orthopaedic Associates, was established in 1978. Located in South-Eastern Pennsylvania in both Chester and Montgomery counties servicing the entire Delaware Valley. PAOC is an orthopaedic surgery group practice with five orthopaedic surgeons, a physiatrist, podiatrist and a sports medicine physician, with four office locations and three physical therapy facilities.

Our History

In 1978, Robert A. Ruggiero, M.D., F.A.C.S., founded Ruggiero Orthopaedic Associates, with the goal of keeping active people active with enhanced performance and improved quality of life.

From the beginning, more than 30 years ago, Ruggiero Orthopaedic Associates has enjoyed an excellent reputation for delivering quality orthopaedic care in quality settings, close to home. The once single surgeon practice has grown into an organization covering many sub-specialties of orthopaedics, which prompted the practice to change its name to the Pennsylvania Orthopaedic Center (PAOC). Today, PAOC, now a multi-specialty orthopaedic group, still strives to achieve the same goal with the same personal service of a single practitioner.

Leaders. Educators. Volunteers.

Our physicians are involved in leadership roles both locally and nationally in area hospitals, professional and medical societies. Over the years, our surgeons helped develop some of the cutting-edge advancements in orthopaedics and currently instruct fellow surgeons on the use of specific orthopaedic hardware and equipment. Our physicians do not feel it is enough to contribute to your specialty without an effort to volunteer. Each year our physicians and staff take part in fundraising for the Arthritis Foundation, through the Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis.

Our goal is to keep active people active with enhanced performance and improved quality of life.
